Although both characters, Antigone and Creon, make me feel pitty, there is one character that makes me feel the most pitty and fear and that is Creon. The reason I pitty Creon is how all through the play he causes bad things to happen. He is personally responsible in some way for the death of his wife, son, and future daughter -in- law. I pitty him for having to live, knowing what he did and costing 3 people their lives. Some flaws Creon posses is he was so power hungry and self righteous that he doesn't really think of anyone else besides himself and the law. With Antigone she just died, she didn't stay on Earth to watch what would happen to everyone and didnt have to pay for her breaking the law to burry her brother, she took the easy way out by kiling herself, so I don't really pitty her as much. With Creon he let his ego and power get to his head and will never be able to forgive himself for not thinking of others and what was best for his kingdom. That is why I pitty Creon more than Antigone in the play.
It's interesting that you say he is personally responsible for those deaths. I wonder what other people think about that.
