Creon Is The Tragic Hero
The character that I feel pity for is Creon, making him the tragic hero of the story. Throughout the story he has Antigone and his own son arguing and not listening to what he believes. Anyone could strongly disagree with one person and feel that they are doing all wrong. Although, it is sad for the one who is getting opposed because no one understands their reasoning whether it is good reasoning or bad reasoning. In the end of the story when Antigone, Haemon, and Creon's wife kill themselves, he has to put up with all of that. Knowing that his son killed himself because of Antigone and his wife killed herself because of Haemon, is a lot of tragedy. Even though it did not happen to Creon, it affects him because it is his family and depending on fate he could believe that something will happen to him. Antigone is a relatable character belief-wise, but Creon has more flaws to feel empathetic about.
