Stereotypical Gender Roles In Antigone

Antigone and her sister have very different views as to the roles of women and their expected place in society. Ismene believes that women have a very certain code of conduct that they are supposed to follow and they are supposed to make themselves appear inferior to men. Antigone believes the opposite. Antigone says that women are equal of or better than men and women were not made to show themselves as delicate and inferior. Anthem follows a very similar role to the sayings of Ismene. Women are made inferior and delicate as to their say in society, and the force of labor that they do.The Hunger Games follows a very different approach as to the fact that women are more able and are not that inferior to men. Women are Strong in the Hunger Games. Hunger Games does not portray women in specific gender roles whereas the other two novels do.
