Antigone vs. Ismene

In the play Antigone, Ismene and Antigone are two characters with very different views and personality traits. Ismene of course upholds the female stereotype because she understands that in a patriarchal society, men are considered to have higher authority. Antigone on the other hand, subverts the female stereotype because she knows the consequences of standing up to man's authority but does it anyway.Antigone is the typical rebellious young woman who thinks she can go against the laws of a woman and come out just fine in the end. Gender roles also appear in The Hunger Games because the leaders (The Capitol) are all men, woman are not the dominant gender and don't have any power. But Katniss challenges this  in the Games and tries to fool and step up to the men of the Capitol, which subverts the female stereotype.
