Antigone and Ismene are women, but are different types of women. Antigone represents the feminist woman who tries to go against Partiarchy. Ismene stays quiet and follows the rules going along with Patriarchy, doing this so that she does not get in trouble with those who believe men are more powerful. In The Hunger Games, Katniss is a feminist character. Throughout the actual games she does not follow any other men tributes and is independent. Many of the other female tributes that are in a group follow the Cato, who is a man, to lead them. They are strong women for the skills they have and pursued, but are weak for not leading themselves individually. The novels do portray men and women with their stereotyped roles, but characters like Antigone go against the stereotypes. This creates different perspectives in the book Antigone.
