Or are you?

Lucent is a young rich student, while Train is a servant. The theme in the play The Taming of the Shrew is that roles have effect on people's happiness. Lucent is happier now that he is rich and gets to do whatever he wants. “Have you so soon forgot the entertainment, her sister Katherine welcomed you withal (52)”.  This quote emphasizes that with wealth you can have whatever you want. Tranio is not as happy anymore because he is now a servant . A person’s happiness is based on wealth, gender and education. Role playing ignites the theme in this play because not everyone is who they are supposed to be. The theme in Antigone and The Taming of The Shrew are similar because in Antigone the theme is family is above the law even at expensive costs(death),  characters in each text give up a lot. Tranio gives up a lot and becomes a servant while Antigone gives up her life for the loyalty to her family.
